Daan directed, shot and edited a 4-part videoseries about Dutch entrepreneurs in the USA. He travelled to Wisconsin, Kentucky, Georgia and California to meet them. The series was made for online videoplatform Telegraaf VNDG.
EPISODE 1 – Hans Philippo started a commercial roofing company in Covington, Kentucky and his business has grown to one of the market leaders in the Midwest.
Hans is a proud Dutchman and recently opened his Dutch themed steakhouse serving Dutch snacks like bitterballen. He also owns his own soccer club.
EPISODE 2 – Marieke Penterman started making Gouda cheese on her family farm in Wisconsin. It became an huge succes and now she is selling nationwide.
EPISODE 3 – Ewoud Swaak develops real estate all over the southern states with money from both private and institutional investors in The Netherlands. His company is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
EPISODE 4 – The flower industry in southern California is dominated by the Dutch. Together with one of the biggest flower bulb importers we visit a few companies.
EPISODE 5 – Entrepreneur Marleen Vogelaar has a revolutionary idea for on-demand clothing for sports brands. She is rapidly expanding her New York-based company.
EPISODE 6 – Silicon Valley is maybe the most innovative place in the word. We visit two successful Dutch entrepreneurs to talk about their future dreams.
